Tea Party supporters will rally at the Vigo County Couthouse at noon on April 15, 2010. We hope to see an even larger crowd than last year. Our contact list, newsgroup members and Facebook fans have been steadily on the rise, as is the ire of the people who pay the bills in this great country.
I don't think it is a stretch of the imagination to believe that the passage of the health care bill and the rumor of a value added tax have added to the irritation of the populace.
If you would like to be part of the Terre Haute Tea Party's online discussion group, please visit http://groups.google.com/group/terrehauteteaparty?lnk=srg and join, or you can follow us on Facebook.

Democracy Poem
Here is a poem by Charles Bukowski that I found to be quite timely. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Keep up the good fight!
Democracy
the problem, of course, isn’t the Democratic System
it’s the
living parts which make up the Democratic System.
the next person you pass on the street,
multiply
him or
her by
3 or 4 or 30 or 40 million
and you will know
immediately
why things remain non-functional
for most of
us.
I wish I had a cure for the chess pieces
We call Humanity…
we’ve undergone any number of political
cures
and we all remain
foolish enough to hope
that the one on the way
NOW
will cure almost
everything.
fellow citizens,
the problem never was the Democratic
System, the problem is
you.

Calling on the People!
Memorize this awesome and oh so true statement from Daniel Webster:
"I shall exert every faculty I possess in aiding to prevent the Constitution from being nullified, destroyed, or impaired; and even though I should see it fail, I will still, with a voice feeble, perhaps, but earnest as ever issued from human lips, and with extinguish, call on the people to come to its rescue."
How appropriate of a pledge to remind us to never, ever give up!!! We are at a moral and political crossroads in the history of our great nation -- a time to decide whether we are going to "exert every faculty" ... to "call on the people to its(the Constitutions) rescue" or whether we are going to sit back and do nothing while evil prevails. I know that sounds extreme, but unfortunately, that is where we, as a nation, are standing.
I don't know about you, but the current precarious position that our liberty is in brings me to tears --- actual tears. It is almost too much to bear at times, yet I have to remind myself that if I don't perservere the consequences will be unbearable. It is difficult, at times, to drag my depressed-self out of bed; I do it anyway, knowing that Christ Jesus is my hope and with His Strength -- ALL IS POSSIBLE!! So, I keep on going -- resisting the urgings of the deceiver and I keep up the good fight.
I am so honored and proud to be part of the Terre Haute TEA Party movement. I am bolstered by the overwhelming turnout and support that I witnessed on April 15th on the Vigo County Courthouse lawn. I know that there is a fierce moral battle ahead and I also know that the good and decent people I stood with on that day are going to "exert every faculty" ... to "call on the people to its(the Constitutions) rescue." My fellow United States of America citizens --- our Country -- our Constitution -- are depending on us to come to the rescue.
God Bless and look forward to seeing you in Marshall, IL on May 23rd and then in Terre Haute on the July 4th weekend when we continue the good fight for our Independence from excessive Taxation and wasteful Government Spending!

Don't lose the momentum

The turn-out for Tax Day was encouraging, and the support from passing drivers was quite inspiring! As I'm going through the list of people that signed up for updates, I'm encouraged to see names from Greencastle, Vincennes, Rockville, and other communities from the Wabash Valley.
It would be helpful to connect with like-minded groups from the area. I know there is a 9-12 project group in Clay County. If representatives from those organizations or individuals would like to contact us, please do! You can email us at terrehauteteaparty@gmail.com
We need to keep the energy going, and keep the pressure on Washington politicians. Until they feel pressure from the constituency, they will not change their ways. If they refuse to change their ways, we need to change them.
Expect another rally in Marshall, Illinois on Saturday the 23rd of May, and in Terre Haute on July 3rd or 4th. Stay tuned for new details as they develop.
